Hey everyone! I’m Ana, and welcome to my little corner of the internet where I’ll be sharing stories from my travels—past, present, and everything in between.
Why This Blog?
Travel has always been a huge part of my life, from family trips to Hawaii and Europe when I was younger, to more recent adventures where I’ve been figuring out how to balance full-time work with my need to explore new places. Starting this blog feels like the next step in sharing what I love most—traveling in a way that’s not always perfect, but real.
I’ve been thinking about doing this for a while, but the thought of putting my experiences into words and sharing them with the world felt a bit daunting. But the more I traveled, the more I realized that the ups, downs, and in-betweens of travel are exactly what I want to talk about. So, here we are!
Where I’ve Been
My journey started back in South Carolina, where I spent a lot of time dreaming of the day I could pack a bag and leave. I was lucky enough to explore parts of the US, as well as Spain, Italy, and Denmark growing up, but it wasn’t until my last semester of college that I truly got my first taste of solo travel. I backpacked across Europe—sometimes getting lost, always learning—and it ignited a fire in me to keep going.
With a little money saved and a whole lot of curiosity, I decided to keep the momentum going. I spent the next five months in Southeast Asia, Australia, and Japan, chasing sunshine, meeting incredible people, and living out what felt like a dream. That experience taught me that travel isn’t always about the destination—it’s about the people you meet and the freedom to let your plans change with the day.
Where I’m Headed
For now, I’m living in Denver, balancing my work as a software engineer with my love for exploring new places. But travel is always in the back of my mind, and I’m constantly scheming for my next adventure. Central and South America are at the top of my list—places I haven’t been yet, but I can already tell will change me in some way.
This blog is going to be a mix of stories from my travels, tips I’ve picked up along the way, and reflections on what travel means to me. Whether it’s the exhilaration of a new country or the challenge of navigating foreign streets with a map that doesn’t make sense, I want to share it all with you. The good, the frustrating, the random surprises—because that’s what makes it all worth it.
What to Expect
Expect stories that don’t sugarcoat things. Expect the reality of balancing work with an urge to travel. Expect posts about the places I’ve been, the ones I dream of, and the lessons I’ve learned along the way.
I’m excited to share my journey with you, and I hope you’ll stick around for what’s next. Who knows? Maybe something you read here will inspire your next adventure, or at least make you feel like you’re tagging along for the ride.
Thanks for being here! This is the place to be.
